Infinity Innovations are the leading supplier of the Sofar Solar ME3000SP battery storage system.

Sofar Solar Battery Storage systems are simple to install and highly flexible. Commonly referred to as AC battery storage system as this system is installed on the ‘AC’ side of any installation. The ME3000SP is an AC coupled battery storage solution which connects directly to the customer’s consumer unit. This is the reason it is compatible with almost any type of inverter or micro-inverter or optimiser system.

You can start with just a single Pylon Battery, and add more pylon batteries up to a total of 8 pylon battery units to one SoFar ME3000SP unit.

This is a single phase system. The system can be used for 3 phase battery storage, but only by treating each phase as a single phase installation. In this way it is possible to have a 3 phase battery storage solution using the SoFar ME3000sp system, however it must be understood that each phase is treated separately, and the ME3000SP unit is still limited to its maximum charge and discharge rate of 3kw.

A basic system consists of the SoFar ME3000SP controller and just one Pylon battery unit which is 2.4kwh. Each time an additional Pylon battery is added, you are adding 2.4kwh of capacity.

The So Far battery systems are supplied with the necessary cables for connecting the batteries together – the short cable sets – and one set of long cables for connecting the battery bank to the SoFar ME3000SP.

Additional BRACKETS are available for stacking the batteries together if you do not wish to use a server cabinet or other means, however these are not included in the system prices, they are priced separately.

ESP (Emergency Power Supply)

The SoFar battery system can be set up to have an EPS function. This needs a couple of inexpensive extra parts to be used for the installation including an automatic change over contactor. This AC coupled battery storage system can power a dedicated supply which would remain live in a power cut, to the extent of the available battery capacity.

AC Charging and AC discharging programming

The SoFar battery storage system can charge the Pylon Batteries from the AC power of the property. As this is an AC coupled battery storage system, the unit can be programmed to fill the batteries up to a determined percentage for any period during the 24 hr cycle. Indeed it is possible to programme when the batteries Discharge also should you wish to prioritise certain times. Contact us for information on programming these features.

Battery Firmware

Not all Pylon batteries have the same firmware on them. In order to ensure correct compatibility Infinity Innovations supply Pylon Batteries with the ME3000sp unit. If you have purchased Pylon Batteries from any other source we recommend that you check with the supplier that you have the correct firmware on the supplied batteries as they may not be compatible. We would recommend that you confirm the firmware version you have before adding to an existing system.

Installing the Sofar Battery storage system is very simple, however we recommend that you contact us for clear explanation of the Sofar system and how this is installed. We can offer support manuals and videos to assist with familiarisation.

The single Pylon Battery system will have a gross battery capacity of 2.4kwh with a DOD of 90%. The recommended max charge and discharge rate is 1.25 kw.

Two Battery system

The Two Pylon Battery system will have a gross battery capacity of 4.8kwh with a DOD of 90%. The recommended max charge and discharge rate is 2.5 kw.

Three Battery system

• 1 x ME3000SP SoFar unit
• 3 x Pylon Battery US2000 Plus
• 1 x Long Cable set

The Three Pylon Battery system will have a gross battery capacity of 7.2kwh with a DOD of 90%. The recommended max charge and discharge rate is 3 kw.

Four Battery system

• 1 x ME3000SP SoFar unit
• 4 x Pylon Battery US2000 Plus
• 1 x Long Cable set

The Four Pylon Battery system will have a gross battery capacity of 9.6kwh with a DOD of 90%. The recommended max charge and discharge rate is 3 kw.

Five Battery system

• 1 x ME3000SP SoFar unit
• 5 x Pylon Battery US2000 Plus
• 1 x Long Cable set

The Five Pylon Battery system will have a gross battery capacity of 12kwh with a DOD of 90%. The recommended max charge and discharge rate is 3 kw.

Six Battery system

• 1 x ME3000SP SoFar unit
• 6 x Pylon Battery US2000 Plus
• 1 x Long Cable set

The Six Pylon Battery system will have a gross battery capacity of 14.4 kwh with a DOD of 90%. The recommended max charge and discharge rate is 3 kw.

Seven Battery system

• 1 x ME3000SP SoFar unit
• 7 x Pylon Battery US2000 Plus
• 1 x Long Cable set

The Seven Pylon Battery system will have a gross battery capacity of 16.8 kwh with a DOD of 90%. The recommended max charge and discharge rate is 3 kw.

 

Eight Battery system

• 1 x ME3000SP SoFar unit
• 8 x Pylon Battery US2000 Plus
• 1 x Long Cable set 

The Eight Pylon Battery system will have a gross battery capacity of 19.2 kwh with a DOD of 90%. The recommended max charge and discharge rate is 3 kw.
